Hello everyone, this has been a pretty exciting week.

 

Today we can finally share some key features of the long awaited Wilderness Boss! We'll be taking a deep dive into the mechanics, sneak peeks, and so forth. We will also be talking about Raids, pathing when fighting bosses, the Collection Log, and Uber Premium and the Uber Island, Stat Changes and so much more.

 

Raids

This week we have taken a look at the inner workings of NPC movement and attack distances. As many of you know a lot of monsters would pull you into them (whether it be ranging, maging or meleeing), we have began to work on fixing these issues where it is consistent to OSRS, there has never been much of an issue when fighting a 1 tile monster/npc, issues arise when the npc is > 1 tile. We have began working on a system to fix these issues, and to make PvM as a whole much more accurate. This is a large undertaking and it will solve so many issues throughout Near-Reality.

As for Raids this will bring about fixes with Tekton, Muttadiles, Mystics (safespotting), Vanguards and any other rooms that are NPCs > 1 tile.

We have fixed a plethora of issues pertaining to Raids, Mama Muttadile now leaves the water properly, in the past it would not walk out of the water in the right direction due to how each layout is a different room, our new system now accounts for this. Many other bosses initial spawning positions have been fixed, for example Guardians and Tekton.

Misc Raid Fixes:

  • Mystics Mage Distance has been increased from 8 -> 12
  • Tekton's Anvil position has been fixed for each layout, Tekton will now go back to the anvil in any layout correctly now
  • Vasa's Crystals are now the correct object size
  • Rooms now have the proper entrances/exits, example: Vasa's Purple Fire, Tekton's Fire, Shamans (Spirit Tendrils), Muttadiles (Noxious Tendrils).

 

Wilderness Boss - Galvek

Mechanics (Subject to Change)

Galvek has 4 attacks:

1. Ranged Attack (Green Form) - 2/5 chance of being used
 -- Galvek deals a 3-hit ranged attack
 (max damage: 18)

2. Fire Bomb Attack (Red Form) - 1/5 chance of being used
 -- Galvek shoots a missile that explodes, hitting everyone near it. Protection prayers won't work here, so put your nikes on. *Much like Vorkath's Fire Bomb
80 damage, if you're underneath the missile
40 damage, if you're re one step away from it
23 damage, if you're two steps away from it

3. Freeze Attack (White Form) - 1/5 chance of being used
 -- Galvek barrages 1/3 of the people surrounding him, freezing them for 10 seconds.
 (max damage: 28)

4. Shockwave Attack (Blue) - 1/5 chance of being used
 -- Galvek disabling the protection prayers of everyone around him.
(max damage: NONE)

Galvek also heals himself every tick for 10HP.

If you stand too close to Galvek, you'll be dealt 10 damage every 3 ticks.
If you attack Galvek, you'll be automatically skulled.

Galvek has 7 wilderness spawn locations:

  • Level 5: North of Edgeville, ::home and run north
  • Level 10: North of Edgeville, same route as Level 5 behind the air obelisk
  • Level 19: South of ::Easts, run a straight path
  • Level 20: Graveyard of Shadows ::graves.
  • Level 27: The Forgotten Cemetery
  • Level 39: South of ::44s, run in a straight line south.
  • Level 53: Go to ::mb, pull the lever, cut through the webs and run west.

Galvek always spawns in a single-combat zone but he can be attacked by multiple people, and attack multiple people at once.

Galvek spawns every 30 minutes, only after being killed.
To check the spawn location or countdown time for Galvek, use the ::galvek command.

Uber Island/Premium Benefits

We have spent the majority of the past week revamping all Premium Rank benefits, and adding the new coveted rank jTNAAwx.pngUber Premium. You can achieve this Rank by hitting $5,000 total spent. It has a lot of perks and it's own island; Uber Island. As for perks for all ranks, we have decided to redo a majority of them (subject to change), you can find them here: https://near-reality.org/account/faq.

 

What will the island include?

  • The island will have two areas for numerous amount of NPCs where you can farm them.
  • Fire where food will never burn, unlimited fire source
  • Anglerfish fishing spots
  • Magic Trees
  • Furnance that does not require coal
  • Faster woodcutting, fishing, and mining speeds
  • Uber Premium Shop
  • New Crystal Imps
  • Seren Boss (Spawns every 2 hours)
    • Mechanics will stay hidden as of now, but you will need a small team to fight Seren.

Collection Log

This is such a amazing feature to finally have been implemented into Near-Reality, we now have to add all of the drops and monsters to the Collection Log but the framework has been completed. Mikan and Assadi did a wonderful job on this project.

Basilisk Knights

With Basilisk Knights finally being finished, this will bring a new Best in Slot helmet into the game for strength bonus. It will have many uses and we can't wait for you guys to try them out. They will also be assigned as a Slayer Task. The drop rate for the Basilisk Jaw is 1/2k.

Ornate Maul Handle

The ornate maul handle has been implemented into the game, the current Granite Maul stays unchanged, but attaching a Ornate Maul Handle to a Granite Maul will give a +5% Accuracy buff

 

Drop rate boost changes

  • Reduced Ring of Wealth drop rate increase from 15% to 7.5% (this includes the Brimstone Ring as well)
  • Reduced DI drop increase from 5% to 0% Reduced
  • DIE drop increase from 10% to 0% Reduced
  • RDI drop increase from 15% to 5% Reduced LDI drop increase from 20% to 7.5%
  • Reduced Drop Rate Pin increase from 15% to 7.5%
  • Reduced Ironman drop increase from 15% to 5%
  • CAPPED at 30% Increase

 

Drop Tables/Item Changes/ Mystery Boxes, Crystal Chest

We have some major changes here, we redesigned the Super Mystery Box, Legendary Mystery Box, Crystal Chest and many other misc boxes. The Mystery Boxes will be kept hidden for now, but see below for information on everything else:

All OSRS clue scroll items made wearable and implemented as rewards except for ornament kits. - Thank you Blood Buns

 

Item Stat Changes

Various items have had stat adjustments and level requirement changes to be in line with OSRS changes

  • Black d’hide defense stat nerfs
  • Rune armor stat nerfs
  • Toxic blowpipes stat nerfs (Subject to Change)
  • Dragonbone necklace stat buffs
    • 80 prayer requirements reduced to 70
  • Bonecrusher necklace stat buffs
    • 80 prayer requirements reduced to 70
  • Ranged strength and accuracy on all dart types reduced
  • Trident of the swamp 75 -> 78 magic requirement
  • Kodai wand 75 -> 80 magic requirement
  • Dragon hunter crossbow 65 -> 70 range requirement
  • Dragon hunter lance 70 -> 78 attack requirement
  • Removed prayer bonus from Twisted Bow
  • Level requirements added to all heraldic, gilded, and trimmed armor versions so pures can’t use them

Item Value Changes

Various items have had item values changes

  • Ore and bar values decreased
    • Rune, adamant, mithril, steel, and gold
  • Armor pieces values decreased
    • Rune, adamant, mithril, and steel
  • Uncut and cut dragonstone and diamond values decreased
  • Value on all thieving stall items reduced by 50% (banana, gold ring, broken warhammer , staff, and scimitar)
    • Thieving stalls at ::di and ::ldi that give cash directly have had their cash values reduced by 50%
  • Raw and cooked sharks, rock tail, and dark crab had their values reduced

    • Removed robin hood hat
    • Removed ranger boots
  • Nezikcheneds
    • Removed ranger boots
  • Tormented demons
    • Removed Dragon Claws
    • Reduced coins quantity from 50m to 10m

    • Vorkath's Head is slightly easier to obtain

    • Removed sanfew serums from drop table
    • Reduced dbones quantity from 10 to 2
  • Nex
    • Green dhides quantity from 400 to 50
    • Removed magic seeds
    • Rune square shields quantity from 35 to 10
    • Rune platebody shields quantity from 20 to 5
    • Rune platelegs shields quantity from 25 to 7
    • Rune plateskirts shields quantity from 25 to 7
    • Rune kiteshields quantity from 30 to 8
    • Saradomin brew quantity from 50 to 15
    • Super restore quantity from 50 to 15
